Meet the Author
Dan graduated from the University of Cincinnati DAAP program with a Bachelor in Architecture. In his early career he worked for both architects and structural engineers producing large commercial construction documents including field inspection on several projects. Dan also worked for general contractors as a senior estimator and project manager on many multi-million dollar commercial and high rise projects. Later Dan worked for the number one concrete construction company in the United States, Baker Concrete.
While at Baker, Dan performed many roles: estimator, local and national sales manager for industrial concrete construction as well as one of the founding members of Baker University (Baker’s internal training). During that time, Dan Baker shared that the company loses money every year because co-workers struggle reading constrcution prints. Thus, Dan searched for a textbook to teach construction print reading and chose Print Reading for Construction by Walter Brown. With Walter’s retirement from education, Dan became the new author. To date, he has completed 4 revisions of the textbook turning it into the #1 textbook for Print Reading in the United States and Canada.
